We can blame the pandemic on a lot of things but realistically it is the reason we may not have Taste of Chicago or the annual Air & Water Show in Chicago next year.
Nobody knows where we will be with the pandemic by next summer, hopefully there will be a vaccine discovered and it will be under control but because of the city taking a hit financially, there just simply isn't enough money in the budget for these two big events.
But don't get discouraged! It's not ruled out yet, anything can happen. Some private donors may give money or maybe the city can do a go fund me to raise funds (just kidding). But seriously, nothing is cancelled, but that $9 million it would take to run the events isn't in the spending plan either.
