With no resolution in sight between the Chicago Teacher’s Union and Chicago Public Schools and the strike deadline looming, CPS officials are closing school for Chicago’s children tomorrow.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the union president announced this morning that he’s fairly certain teachers will walk out tomorrow because they cannot reach a deal in time. The vote was scheduled for this afternoon after school let out and they will announce the results early this evening. We’ll keep you posted as we find out the details.
Meanwhile, Mayor Lightfoot and CPS seem to think that they’ve done all they can to meet teacher demands, going as far as to say that the teachers are no longer bargaining in good faith.
And all parents want is for their kids to be in school… let’s work this out so it’s fair for everyone, especially the kids.
