100 Black Men

The 100 Black Men of Chicago is a volunteer-led organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and expanding educational opportunities for African American boys and young men across the Greater Chicago area. Rooted in a national movement that began in 1963—when influential Black leaders such as David Dinkins, Jackie Robinson, and others united to strengthen their communities—the Chicago chapter was founded in 1994 with that same commitment to youth development and collective uplift.

Today, the chapter carries out that mission through robust programs focused on mentoring, education, health and wellness, and economic empowerment, all aimed at closing achievement gaps and expanding pathways to success. Its members—professionals from diverse fields—have supported thousands of young people through consistent guidance, skill-building, and community engagement.

Supporting the 100 Black Men of Chicago helps sustain this legacy of leadership and ensures more young men gain the tools, confidence, and opportunities to thrive.
