Teen charged with felony after police breakup brawl near Water Tower

A teenager was charged with a felony after a group of more the 50 teens brawled near the Water Tower on Michigan Ave. over the weekend between 8:30pm and 9pm on Saturday.

Shortly after, the group started fighting with people walking near North Michigan Ave.

Police broke up the large crowd near a McDonald's on Chicago, near the entrance to the Red Line.

Police say a 16-year-old boy was charged with felony aggravated battery after he splashed an “unknown liquid substance” on an officer’s face.

A spokesman for the Mag Mile Association says, “Chicago police have done an excellent job and are proactive in these situations.
