Street Racer Mows Down Mother Pushing Infant In Stroller In Florida

Three men were arrested after racing down a divided four-lane road in Tampa, Florida and striking a 24-year-old mother who was pushing a stroller with her infant child across the street. Jessica Reisinger was killed and her 21-month-old baby is not expected to survive.

Police say that 18-year-old Cameron Herrin was racing his black Ford Mustang against 17-year-old John Barrineau, who was driving a gold Nissan sedan. As the two cars sped down the street, changing lanes and driving recklessly, Herrin struck Reisinger and her baby as they were in a crosswalk. Police also arrested Herrin's 20-year-old brother Tristan who was a passenger in the Mustang.

Cameron Herrin and Barrineau were charged with street racing, vehicular homicide, and reckless driving resulting in serious bodily injury. Tristan is facing charges of street racing because Florida law considers willing passengers participants in the activity.

Witnesses said the drivers were going about 60 miles-per-hour, but police said they could not confirm how fast they were driving. Authorities stated that speeding is a constant problem on the road and officers have been attempting to crack down with increased patrols in the area.
