President Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is no longer welcome there. The West Hollywood City Council decided that it was time for it to go, the decision being made after the star had been damaged several times, once by a sledgehammer. The star was also drawing so much attention that the area had to be monitored by security because of potential vandals and was increasingly becoming a dangerous spot.
John Duran, the mayor of West Hollywood summed up why Trump's star is being removed best:
"Earning a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is an honor. When one belittles and attacks minorities, immigrants, Muslims, people with disabilities or women -- the honor no longer exists."
