Another day another shooting in the Chicagoland area. Police said three people were shot in Evanston Thursday afternoon. The shooting happened near Howard Street and Custer Avenue around 3 p.m. Evanston police said the victims were in a red SUV on Custer Avenue approaching Howard Street in front of 112 Custer Ave. when the shooting occurred. Firearms evidence indicated that a rifle was used in the shooting. The victims’ vehicle traveled across Howard into Chicago where it was involved in a minor crash with a fixed object, according to police. The offending vehicle fled from the area.
