Man dragged for 7 blocks by car in fatal hit-and-run on South Side

This is an odd and peculiar story with a tragic ending.  Chicago Police are looking for a driver who's responsible for a fatal hit-and-run on the city's South Side. It happened just after 3 a.m. Tuesday near 79th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue in the Chatham neighborhood. Police said a man was hit by a car as he crossed the street after leaving a Subway restaurant. The car struck the man and he was dragged underneath the car as it went eastbound on 79th Street for seven blocks. The victim is believed to be in his 50s.  His identity has not officially been released but a friend who was with him said he has 12 children and would “give you the shirt off his back.”
