Charges filed in murder of Bears players’ barber

Prosecutors have filed charges in the murder of Mike Carney, a popular Chicago-area barber who was shot dead in front of his 5-year-old daughter last month. Perry Gosa, 27, of Matteson, is charged with first-degree murder in the Oct. 21 attack. Authorities believe the motive was jealousy; Carney was dating Gosa's ex-girlfriend. Carney was shot twice in his head after pulling into a gas station in Harvey. His daughter was in the car at the time. Gosa surrendered to authorities at the Markham courthouse Tuesday. Police issued a warrant for his arrest last month, calling Gosa "armed and dangerous."
