Candy Company Moving To Old Chicago Post Office

The company that makes those yummy lemon heads and nerds will be moving its headquarters to the old post office downtown. Ferrara Candy will be moving from Oak Brook to the city next summer.

For years, many of us have driven under the post office on Congress Parkway. The building has been abandoned for several years, but pretty soon it will be coming back to life. More than 400 jobs will be coming to the old structure, but that will change. More and more companies are eyeing the post office and may relocate there as well, including Walgreens which will also be moving about 1,800 of its employees to the old post office next year.

It will cost more than $800 million for the redevelopment.
