R. Kelly supporters, protesters clash outside Near West Side studio

R. Kelly supporters and protesters clashed outside the singer’s Near West Side studio Saturday morning. In the middle of a protest calling for people to boycott Kelly’s music, a caravan of luxury vehicles rolled up — blasting Kelly’s tunes. Supporters in the caravan traded barbs with protesters for a half hour. The groups then prayed together. Kelly is facing serious allegations of abuse and statutory rape after a six-part documentary series called "Surviving R. Kelly" aired on the Lifetime network. In it, women detail decades of alleged abuse.
