Students at Homewood Flossmoor High School Wearing Blackface Saddens Me

So even in 2019 you mean to tell me that there are still people wearing blackface? When will this nonsensical, racist, insensitive action stop? Apparently no time soon because a video has surfaced of students at Homewood Flossmoor High School in the south suburbs showing students doing just that.

Although the students were in a car riding around the community and the incident didn't take place on school grounds, it doesn't matter. Those students (who by the way were wearing school paraphernalia) still represent the school and school officials should be responsible for punishing these students. Not only should the school get involved, but the parents should be held accountable too.

There have been so many stories from celebrities, to politicians to prominent people who have pulled the blackface move and there is no way this should be tolerated. I don't want to hear any excuses like "they didn't know what they were doing," or "it was just a school prank," or "they're just having fun." They should be held accountable and punished to the fullest so that no other person will even think about doing this again.

Step up administrators at Homewood Flossmoor because you have a whole lot of people waiting to see your move. These are your students, representing your school.
