Humboldt Park will be the place to be this weekend with all of the Puerto Rican festivities kicking off on Thursday. Every year the neighborhood really comes to life as thousands celebrate Puerto Rican culture.
The main attraction of the weekend is the Puerto Rican People's Parade and Festival. But let's first start with the festival which takes place between 2 and 10 p.m. on Saturday. At the festival you can dance, eat delicious food, and people watch while listening to great music. And while you're there, you can't miss the parade which steps off at 2 p.m. at Division and Western. Colorful floats, marching bands and dancers will keep you entertained for the whole route.
Just a heads up, there will be plenty of traffic and congestion in the area so be prepared. You may want to grab one of those electric scooters that debut in some Chicago neighborhoods this weekend.
