The recent invasion of grasshoppers in Las Vegas may have a deeper meaning than we think. Just the thought of hundreds of thousands of grasshoppers flying and hopping around is absolutely gross, but it's also intriguing and spiritual at the same time.
The influx of the insect in Vegas is so major that it could actually be seen on the weather radar. Meteorologists are claiming that the invasion is due to a very wet spring that took place in the city -- with rainfall doubling its average, but others have different thoughts. In the Bible there are several scriptures that reference locusts, and grasshoppers and many think this migration of grasshoppers can have a spiritual meaning.
In the book of Isaiah we are reminded that God is omnipresent, powerful, infinitely creative and the ruler of all things and people who inhabit the earth are like grasshoppers. Isaiah 40:22 states, "He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in." Deep.
