The Chicago Marathon Hits Chi-Town City Streets This Sunday

I have always been intrigued by people who are able to run 26 miles, it really just blows my mind. I'm sure if I trained and was focused and more disciplined and in tip top shape, I probably could do it too but uh, I'm not, so ...

The annual Chicago Marathon takes place this Sunday and will include more than 45-thousand people participating. Runners on all levels from more than 50 states and more than 100 countries around the world will converge on Grant Park seeking to reach their goals.

Traffic will be congested in some areas and it is important that you are familiar with the route prior to leaving out on Sunday. I recall one year it took me about 2 hours just to get to my destination which normally would take about 25 minutes because of the street closures and detours.

Congratulations to all of those who are running and remember the race is not given to the swift nor to the strong, but to the one who endures until the end.
