Former President Barack Obama and Michelle will be in Chicago Tuesday to discuss the presidential library. There has been talk about this library for more than a few years now and ground has not even been broken for its construction yet. The proposed library will be built on the south side in Jackson Park and the Obama's will be in town to host the third town hall meeting to discuss its progress.
I'm not sure exactly why, but there has been some opposition to the project. I would assume that bringing the library to the south side would improve the surrounding neighborhoods, adding jobs and attracting international visitors. One would think that would be welcomed considering it would bring revenue to the city and much needed improvements.
What happens with the library remains unseen as talks continue about the project. I just hope it actually happens because it would not make sense to have the library anywhere else than on the south side of Chicago, were Michelle Obama is from and where Barack spent a good part of his political career.
