Malls Are Scaling Back On Those Holiday Overnighters

Looks like some big retailers are scaling back on those holiday shopping hours this year. They are cancelling the overnight store hours that typically begin on Thanksgiving and run straight through Black Friday and sometimes throughout the weekend. But that is not happening, at least not this season.

If you want to get in your holiday shopping, just know that most malls will have extended hours, but they won't be open all night like in the past. Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg has joined the party along with Gurnee Mills and Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora by limiting those holiday hours. But if you just have to get that shopping rush and shop in the wee hours, Fox Valley Mall in Aurora will be open at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day and will remain open until 10 p.m. on Black Friday. Stores have the option of closing from 1 a.m. until 8 a.m. if they wish.

But for Woodfield Mall which is not pulling an all-nighter, the hours are as follows:

Thanksgiving Day 5 p.m. to midnight

Black Friday 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 30 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 1 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Get your shop on.
