Big shout out to LeBron James for helping the youth of Chicago. The basketball superstar is teaming up with ride-sharing company Lyft to give free Divvy bike memberships to youth around the city. The free memberships from Lyft and James' company Uninterrupted, will be offered to thousands of qualifying youth between the ages of 16 and 20. Both companies will also work with the Y to help identify youth who would benefit from the memberships.
A lot of young people do not have transportation, and the fact that they can now have access to FREE transportation can be a big help in them getting and staying employed, attending community events or just being able to get around to run daily errands. Another great advantage is that bike riding is healthy and can help with overall well-being and positive attitude.
