Obama-Produced "American Factory" Wins Oscar For Best Documentary

Looks like the Obamas have found the path to the next chapter of their lives since leaving the White House. Their production company Higher Ground just won its first Oscar for Best Documentary for the film "American Factory."

It seems like it was less than a year ago that I reported the former first lady and president would be producing content for Netflix and little did I know they would win one of the highest honors for their program.

"American Factory" is about a Chinese company opening an automotive glass plant at a former General Motors plant in Ohio and takes a look at the cultural differences and doubt from the community. It also sheds light on what the average worker in America faces with the increase in social change.

The Obamas did not attend the Academy Awards ceremony but the co-directors of the film accepted the Oscar.
