No Shootings In Chicago's Englewood For Nearly A Month

According to the Chicago Police Department the Englewood neighborhood has not had a shooting in at least 23 days. That is good news for sure, but I wish that was a normal statistic and not something that should be given praise.

As a Chicagoan hearing of the shootings and murders that take place in our beloved city saddens me. The stats are so serious and very devastating. So far this year there have been 68 murders on record and 274 shootings. That is very alarming.

Although I am happy to know Englewood, which is a high-crime neighborhood, has been without shootings for nearly a month, I just wish we could get back to normalcy with no shootings at all. I believe that can happen, I really do.
