Coronavirus is Spreading Throughout Chicagoland, But So Are Other Viruses

We continue to hear cases of the Coronavirus spreading across the world, and Chicagoland is affected too. There are now seven cases of the virus confirmed throughout the Chicago area.

Some schools have been closed after it was discovered a staff worker may have been exposed to the virus. In addition, some restaurants and coffee shops are no longer refilling cups with drinks, and some restaurants are taking extra precaution by wiping down everything after hours.

Southwest Airlines issued a statement that they are enhancing cleaning procedures of their aircraft, with six to seven hours spent on sanitizing and cleaning, "in the interest of our customers' and employees' health and safety."

It is important that we take this virus seriously, with the death toll now at 22 in the U.S. and more than 3,800 according to CNN. Keep in mind that there are other diseases such as the flu, that have killed many this year too so caution is necessary on many levels.

Continue to wash your hands several times throughout the day, cover your mouth and nose when sneezing and coughing, and practice good hygiene, not only now due to these outbreaks but always, please!
