What’s Happening at Home: virtual concerts, storytelling stars & a new doc

As more large-scale events this summer have been cancelled or turned into virtual events, we still have things to do… safely at HOME!

Tonight, support Sweet Home Chicago Relief and Recovery, starring Common, Buddy Guy, EWF’s Verdine White and more, hosted by Deon Cole as they raise money to support local charities responding to the COVID-19 crisis. The virtual event is online and broadcast on NBC Sports Chicago at 5pm this evening.

Next week, celebrate the Chicago Children’s Choir with a special appearances from Chance the Rapper and Common for their Virtual Paint the Town Red event on Thursday (5/21) at 7pm.

If you’re home with the kids and want to do something special just for them, the Chicago Public Library is featuring “Live from the Library” every weekday at 10am featuring Oprah, the Obamas and other notable Chicagoans reading stories on their Facebook and Instagram accounts… Oprah will be featured this Monday, May 18th.

And after the Last Dance is over this weekend on ESPN, check out the new platform Quibi for your next sports fix… Monday, their new documentary series "Blackballed" premieres, about former LA Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling’s expulsion from the NBA over racist comments. See the trailer here!

Whatever you choose, have fun and don’t let me EVER hear you say you don’t have anything to do!
