Civil Rights Activist John Lewis Dead at 80

Civil Rights Icon John Lewis has died at 80.

After a six month battle with pancreatic cancer, civil rights activist John Lewis has passed away. The Georgia lawmaker spent his life fighting for social equality. Lewis served in Congress for more than three decades and fought as an original Freedom Rider. He marched with Dr. Martin Luther King and helped to lay the foundation for movements such as Black Lives Matter.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Lewis family.
