In order to keep up with the zillions of online orders received each day, Amazon is looking to hire thousands of people throughout Chicagoland.
More than 100,000 jobs are available across the country, but in Chicago Amazon will hire 5,500 people. Both full-time and part-time jobs will be available for packing, shipping and sorting orders, but these jobs are not related to the typical holiday jobs Amazon offers.
In addition to the starting rate of pay of $15 an hour, Amazon will also offer some sign-on bonuses of up to $500.
