Okay listen up all of you Chicagoans. We're going to have to get used to a new name in one of our favorite neighborhoods because Boystown on the North Side is no longer.
The neighborhood which is known all around the world will now be called *drumroll here* ... North Halsted! The reason for the change? The Northhalsted Business Alliance conducted a survey after being challenged about the name Boystown being inclusive and diverse.
I'm all for it. I think the name North Halsted represents a broader aspect of the LGBTQ community and will help spread awareness of the different lifestyles represented. Even though more than half of the people surveyed didn't mind the name Boystown, the Chamber of Commerce didn't think it was enough to keep the name.
I can get used to this fairly quickly, but that Willis Tower situation? Not so much, I still find myself calling it ... well, you know.
