Man, just when I was thinking about a short trip I could take for vacation Southwest Airlines hit me with this.
The airline says it will give travelers a warning a few days before their flight if the flight will be full or close to being full. Basically, that means the airline is going to start filling those middle seats that nobody likes sitting in. I never liked a middle seat on a plane even before the pandemic because who wants to be sitting so close between people they don't know? Not me!
Anyway, I understand the airline industry is in serious financial trouble now because of the pandemic but I was sure hoping Southwest wouldn't allow passengers in the middle seat but I guess I'll have to deal with it.
But there is a good part to this story. Southwest says passengers will have an option to change to another flight if flights are available within three days of their original flight at no charge. I guess that's cool. Hmmmmm ... maybe I will take a quick trip somewhere.
