Youngest Black Certified Pilot of Boeing 777 Is 23 Years Old

Imagine getting on an airplane and you glance into the cockpit and see a young man sitting in the pilot's seat. A young, black man. I would be smiling from ear to ear because it's very rare seeing black pilots as it is.

Welcome Malik Sinegal to the friendly skies. At just 23 years old Malik is the youngest black man to be certified as a Boeing 777 pilot. Let me repeat that. He is now a certified Boeing 777 pilot, making him the youngest black person in the world to achieve this feat!

As a kid Malik always wanted to fly planes and while attending Delta State University he got a remarkable opportunity to fly across the world as an airline ambassador through the school's aviation program. That was just two years ago.

This is a major accomplishment for Malik because only about three percent of commercial airline pilots are black, with many pilots achieving this goal in their 40s. Malik is currently a flight instructor in Mississippi.

Keep soaring young brother, keep soaring because obviously for you not even the sky is the limit.
