Police: 2 Young Children Found Walking Alone In South Shore Neighborhood

My heart dropped when I heard of the news story that two children were walking down the street alone at 10:30 p.m. in the South Shore neighborhood.

I don't know what the situation is, but as of writing this, police were still in search of their parents or family members, and the children are now in the custody of DCFS. The 5 and 1-year-old sisters were walking alone in the 1700 block of 72nd Street Sunday night.

But this is not the first time a child was found wandering alone in South Shore About a year ago a postal worker found an unclothed, 3-year-old boy walking by himself in the southeast side neighborhood.

I hope whatever is going on within the family gets worked out and everybody will be okay. It's very unfortunate that these innocent children were placed in harm's way. But they obviously had angels surrounding them and for that I am thankful.
