Like everybody else I really like opening gifts, especially when you don't know what's inside the package. It could be a bottle of finger polish, a book, a makeup compact -- anything. There is just something exciting about opening a wrapped present.
But this year many people won't be able to do that because of the financial strain caused by the pandemic and guess what? That is perfectly okay. For years my family never really exchanged Christmas gifts, we always just gathered together to celebrate life, each other and show thanks for good health and blessings.
To me, that is way more important than opening a present. Life is so uncertain and you never know what may come your way so while you can share the holiday with your loved ones -- that is the best gift of all.
