The highly anticipated movie, Respect.
The public has been waiting on this film light years before Aretha Franklins passing. Respect is an upcoming American biographical drama film based on the life of American singer Aretha Franklin. The project has been in long development with Jennifer Hudson set to play Aretha Franklin. Before the passing of Aretha Franklin, Franklin herself was involved with the development up until her death on August 16, 2018.
With an awesome cast, I think this film will be explosive, to say the least. Playing the Rev. C.L. Franklin is Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra Mc Donald, Mary J. Blige as Dinah Washington and Lodric D. Collins as Smokey Robinson. Jennifer Hudson was appointed to play Aretha BY Aretha, that had to be one of the highest honor from the Queen of Soul but Respect is scheduled to be theatrically released in the United States on August 12, 2021. It was originally scheduled to be released on January 15, 2021, and before that begin a limited release on December 25, 2021 before going wide the following week due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sometimes perfection takes time, whatever they choose, I'm so ready for this film!
