The DuSable Museum of African-American History is celebrating its 60th anniversary.
The museum was actually started in the living room of Margaret Taylor-Burroughs, who lived at 38th and Michigan. The museum is the largest independently owned museum of black culture in the United States.
If you have never been to the DuSable Museum, I highly suggest you visit -- especially with your family. You will learn a lot about black history and art. The museum is located at 740 E. 56th Place on Chicago's south side.
