The CTA is testing new train cars on the Blue Line. The cars will have a redesigned interior, with a mix of forward-facing and aisle-facing seats, a display of a moving rail system map and passenger information displays at both ends of the car. There will also be an improvement in suspension, offering a smoother ride.
The new train cars were assembled right here in Chicago on the South Side in the Hegewisch neighborhood. Testing will continue through the early part of next year.
