Former Journey frontman Steve Perry will release his third album in four years this fall, a holiday record called The Season, which will arrive on November 5.
For Perry, the album brings to fruition a lifelong love for classic holiday music. It's also a record his fans have been encouraging him to do for years.
"I hope when people hear this record they're teleported in the same way I was when I recorded all these songs," Perry said in a statement. "I hope it brings them back to those golden moments with their loved ones and gives them that feeling of joy and connection and comfort that we all need so much."
To celebrate the album announcement, Perry unveiled its single: his version of "I'll Be Home for Christmas." Listen to it via the player above!

In December of 2018, after making his comeback with Traces, Perry shared a rendition of "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" as a "Christmas card" for all those who welcomed him back after some 20 years of retirement.
In 2020, Perry released an EP of alternate versions of songs from Traces and told Ultimate Classic Rock that he was working on new music every day.
"I have more music to finish than I probably have time to do so," he said. "I'm excited about it and I feel an urgency to get this next phase of what's showing up now, [which] I did not know was going to show up. But it's showing up now. It's showing up because of where we are in the world."
