Cassandra "Cassie" Ventura is preparing to give birth to her third child.
According to a report TMZ published on Tuesday, May 27, the singer-model was rushed to a local hospital in New York. She was admitted to the labor and delivery unit of the hospital. Sources told the outlet that she may be having complications. Cassie and her husband, Alex Fine, have two daughters together. She announced her pregnancy back in February. The singer was eight months pregnant when she attended the trial of her ex-boyfriend Sean "Diddy" Combs and testified about the abuse she suffered during their relationship.
Cassie was the first celebrity to testify in Combs' criminal trial. She told the jury about the physical, mental, and sexual abuse she experienced during her 10 years with the Bad Boy Records founder. The couple began dating in 2006 after she signed with Bad Boy and released her debut single "Me & U." Combs asked Cassie to participate in his "freak off" sex parties months into their relationship, and forced her to have sex with male escorts for years. Prosecutors showed the jury disturbing photos of the injuries she received from Combs, and screenshots of videos from their freak-offs.
Combs' ex also testified how the mogul reacted when he found out about the relationship she had with rapper Kid Cudi while the couple was on a break. She told the jury that Combs threatened to hurt both of them, and later made good on his promise. He beat Cassie on several occasions and allegedly conspired to blow up Cudi's Porsche. Cassie spent four days on the stand before her mother, Regina Ventura, testified about the abuse her daughter went through.
