Checkers/Rally's was credited for having the best fast food french fries in America, according to a list compiled by Delish.com's Gabby Romero.
The fast food chain, which varies in name at locations in 28 states and the District of Columbia, topped a list of 13 of the best fast food chain's french fries.
"We have a dark horse winning first place: Checkers (or Rally's, depending on where you live)" Romero wrote. "The fries at this chain are beer battered and seasoned in a savory, salty spice blend. They're so crispy, so flavorful, and so satisfying. There's a reason they bag their fries and sell them in the supermarket freezer aisle: they're just that good."
McDonald's, which had previously topped Eat This, Not That's list in 2024, ranked second, followed by the Mexican food chain Del Taco, the chicken finger chain Raising Cane's and the chicken sandwich chain Chick-fil-A.
"Fries can come in so many different shapes, like classic, crinkle, curly, or waffle. But fries can also differ in the way they're cooked (the difference between peanut oil, canola oil, and beef fat is staggering). And don't even get us started on the effect that seasoning has on your spuds (if you've ever had the misfortune of eating an under-salted fry, you get it)," Romero wrote.
