Gov. Pritzker said it best when during a recent press conference he said that we are disrespecting those in the medical field on the front line when we don't follow the 'Shelter In Place' order. I agree wholeheartedly.
And in respecting the order, I am actually very happy that Mayor Lori Lightfoot shut down the entire lakefront when it was discovered thousands of people were out riding bikes, jogging, taking walks and just chilling. This is not good family. It is common sense that if you want something to end, you will do whatever it takes to make that happen.
It is very disheartening when people blatantly disobey orders, ultimately helping the spread of coronavirus which unfortunately ends in death for some.
Please, please do whatever you can to shelter in place, and follow the order. It's not total confinement, so I think we can all do our part to make this work. I am very eager to get back to my regular routine just like many others, but unless we adhere to the order we may be in this situation for weeks to come.
