MLK Day is the only federal holiday that’s been designated as a national day of service. Whether you're donating, volunteering, learning more about the Civil Rights icon or marching for a cause, there are several activities and events taking place around Chicago in honor of Dr. King's legacy:
·DuSable Museum of African American History – Witness the historic 1963 March on Washington in a virtual exhibit.
·Virtual Event at the Hyde Park Art Center in Hyde Park -- See virtual film screenings and participate in panel discussions with the filmmakers.
· Enjoy and learn at an MLK Family event at the Chicago History Museum with panel discussions, poetry, musical performances and more.
·The Metropolitan Board of the Chicago Urban League is having a day of service with designing murals, painting and organizing school closets.
