Looks like Chicago will be getting a little taste of that Las Vegas life in the next couple of years. Mayor Lightfoot has announced that Bally's will build a casino in Chicago's River West neighborhood -- maybe. The announcement was made Thursday morning amid some controversy that the plans were made without consideration of neighbors and others who will be directly impacted by the casino.
I'm actually excited for it because it will bring jobs and other opportunities to the residents of Chicago. The casino will also add some spice that this city has been lacking for the past several years. I used to live in Vegas so it will remind me of the Vegas strip and all the great entertainment that will come to the city. If approved by the City Council and other agencies, the $1.7 billion casino will be built at Halsted and Chicago Avenue.
