Omicron Subvariant Is Gaining Traction, Cases Increasing

Just when you thought it was safe to get back to life as we knew it before a couple of years ago, this Omicron subvariant is gaining traction and people are coming down with COVID cases very rapidly.

More and more people are starting to put those masks back on and in some cases some cities have even reinstated the mask mandate. It's not over until it's over. If you think you may be coming down with something, these are some of the symptoms of the BA.2 subvariant:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or problems breathing
  • Tired
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Another subvariant BA.2.12.1 is more contagious than the BA.2, however in Illinois BA.2 is most dominate. Bottom line, we are still in a pandemic obviously.
