Big props to Jay-Z and his mother Gloria on celebrating 20 years of giving back. Jay and his mom founded the Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund in 2003 to help low-income students to receive a higher education. The scholarships cover tuition, books, lab fees, travel, and living expenses. To be a recipient of the scholarship, you have to do community service and mentor younger students. The scholarship fund awards scholarships to more than 200 students in the United States for up to $7,500.
