Hurricane Florence made landfall yesterday and the devastation was immediate. People from 6 states evacuated their homes in preparation for the storm and some cities in North Carolina were almost instantly underwater with storm surges and flooding of 10 to 11 feet.
And the damage isn’t done… even though Florence has been downgraded to a tropical storm, the system is moving slowly and is expected to dump record-breaking rainfall amounts over 3 feet or more across the South.
The Red Cross has been providing shelter and help to evacuees and other volunteers are on the ground helping and rescuing those who couldn’t evacuate. If you’d like to help their efforts, here's a list from ABC News with links to various organizations on the ground and helping those in need.
Blessings and safety to everyone in Florence's path.
