We're playing Robin Thicke's latest single, "That's What Love Can Do"... it reminds me a lot of the first songs we heard from him.
But as sweet and full of love as the ballad is, it was inspired by a time of unexpected pain and loss in Robin's life. He was working on music for his latest album when his father, actor Alan Thicke, passed away suddenly.
He said in an interview that he had basically finished the album that he thought he wanted to release, but the loss of his father "was something I wasn't expecting and it just kind of rattled my soul. So, I took some time to re-think the album."
