This weekend is dedicated to Dad… Daddy… Pops… Papi… Poppa… Father!
Tomorrow, the 3rd Sunday of June, is the day set aside to honor all the men who are fathers or those who stand in as fathers for the children in their lives.
The beginnings of the Father’s Day holiday were born in the Catholic Church during the Middle Ages… it traditionally happened every March 19th, the Feast Day of St. Joseph (Jesus’ earthly father). One of the very first Father’s Days in the U.S. was celebrated in 1908, but it took until 1972 to make it an official permanent national holiday.
Wherever you are and however you do it, we salute you Dads and celebrate the special Magic of our fathers!
