You'll probably be able to catch a DIY backyard fireworks in your neighborhood or wherever you're getting your BBQ on today and tonight... but why not make it more fabulous (& keep it a little safer!) by catching a real, spectacular display in a suburb near you?
Here are a few fireworks displays happening tonight in different regions of the Chicago area:
North:
Evanston: Sheridan Road and Church Street at 9:30 p.m.
Libertyville:Butler Lake Park, 500 Lake Street at 9:30 p.m.
West:
Oak Park: Oak Park and River Forest High School, near East Avenue and Lake Street at Dusk
Aurora: RiverEdge Park, 360 N Broadway Street at 9:00 p.m.
South:
South Holland: Veterans Memorial Park at 9:10 p.m.
Tinley Park: McCarthy Park, 16801 W 80th Avenue at 9:15 p.m.
NW Indiana:
Hammond: Wolf Lake Pavilion at 9 p.m. (There's also a Naturalization Ceremony at 5 p.m. and an orchestral performance at 7 p.m.)
Michigan City: Washington Park, 6 On the Lake. Fireworks will be launched from the lighthouse pier over Lake Michigan beginning around 8:30 p.m.
