The positive news story of the week – and likely one for the history books – CPS has two sets of African-American twin girls from the south side who are co-valedictorians of their high schools!
Tia & Tyra Smith were recognized as the top students at Lindblom Math & Science Academy last month and yesterday, the Chicago Sun-Times profiled Naomi & Nannette Beckley, who lead the class at Gwendolyn Brooks College Prep.
All 4 girls have perfect 4.0 GPAs and have all received prestigious full ride scholarships to the nation’s top schools: Northwestern, Duke, Princeton & Yale.
