One of our community's biggest legends celebrated Black History Month this week by signing and giving away copies of his latest book... the Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr continues to be the very definition of Black People Magic, especially in the way he encourages us all to celebrate our own magic.
His latest book, “Keeping Hope Alive: Sermons and Speeches of Rev. Jesse L. Jackson Sr.” is a compilation of his spoken words, including many that haven’t been published previously. It came out in December and you can buy it here.
Here's something worth remembering that he wrote in his notes in the book:
“After all these years, what remains for me, is God is a source of mystery and wonder. Scripture holds up. The righteous are not forsaken. We’ve come a long way since slavery. But we’re not finished yet. Running for freedom is a long-distance race."
