The CDC and federal government officials are now recommending to add face masks to the safety precautions we're already taking to protect ourselves from contracting coronavirus.
According to the Sun-Times, because there's a shortage of N95 masks that medical personnel need and even surgical ear loop masks, they're suggesting the use of scarves, bandanas and similar items to cover the mouth and nose when outside.
Officials cautioned that it's not a replacement for the other safety measures... you should still practice social distancing of at least 6 feet, wash your hands often, avoid touching your face and stay home except for essential needs.
Stay safe and be well!
