We’re a few days away from the 4thanniversary of Prince’s passing on Tuesday April 21st, and there’s a huge tribute airing on CBS at 8pm that night called “Let’s Go Crazy: The Grammy Salute to Prince.”
The show was put together by Sheila E. and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis who served as musical directors of the show. Comedian Maya Rudolph will host the night, which includes star-studded performancesof Prince songs by Gary Clark Jr., Common, Earth, Wind & Fire, H.E.R., John Legend, Miguel, Morris Day and The Time (including Jam and Lewis), Mavis Staples, Usher, Prince band The Revolution and Sheila E.
The all-star tribute show was recorded earlier this year – sadly, just days after Kobe Bryant’s untimely death.
Sheila E. also just released a single this week in honor of the sad anniversary caled “Lemon Cake”… it’s a bit of a stepper’s groove. Check it out at the link below.
Rest in Power, Prince!
