What's Happening at Home & Out: Juneteenth Continues for Father's Day!

With the Riverwalk, city parks, Millennium Park and the Lakefront Trail reopening… there’s more to do to celebrate this Father’s Day weekend!

The 2nd annual Juneteenth Family Festival at Dan Ryan Woods, 87th & Western is today from noon to 5pm. Admission is free.

Over 70 Black-owned restaurants in Chicago are celebrating Juneteenth all weekend long by offering $6.19 and $16.19 specials… and all of my favorites are on the list! Shout out to Jeremy Joyce & Black People Eats on Instagram for raising money to support black restaurants and putting together this celebration… follow and support them! & Check out the link on our Brilliantly Black page along with all the other businesses we’re highlighting. Where you spend your money is power!

Online, there’s also Virtual Pride Fest this weekend... and Virtual Switch On Summer, the ceremonial celebration of when the city would normally turn on Buckingham Fountain, brought to you by ComEd.

Whatever you choose, have fun and don’t let me EVER hear you say you don’t have anything to do!
