Well, life at home may FINALLY feel a little more normal now… sports are BACK! The NBA’s 88 game limited season officially begins on Thursday July 30th and Major League Baseball just opened their shortened 60 game season this week with the Cubs and Sox hosting their home openers last night and both teams playing again today – Cubs at noon, Sox at 1.
A couple of other things to know about and look forward to as we entertain ourselves at home and out and about…
New rules started yesterday for restaurants and bars in Chicago to battle the new uptick in COVID cases. Bars that do not serve food have to close their indoor facilities and can only operate their outdoor/patio spaces. And if you’ve been having people over and live in an apartment or condo building, you are now limited to 5 guests per unit.
Beat the heat at Hurricane Harbor… while Six Flags remains closed for now, they opened their water park for season pass holders earlier this week and the public can join in the fun beginning tomorrow.
And coming in a few weeks, you can catch a movie from the lake… an Australian events company is bringing Beyond Cinema to Chicago. It features old movies and new releases that you watch from one of their mini-boats. It’ll be here in September and you can pre-register to get tickets.
Whatever you choose, have fun and don’t let me EVER hear you say you don’t have anything to do!
